Waiting in the car

Mama Bear went off and left us in the car. Why must we wait?

Let’s have a look outside. Where’d she go?

Down the street?

Hey Serena, do you see her?

Goody, goody. Mama Bear is here.

No, me first. I saw you. Pet me first.

Mama Bear went off and left us in the car. Why must we wait?

Let’s have a look outside. Where’d she go?

Down the street?

Hey Serena, do you see her?

Goody, goody. Mama Bear is here.

No, me first. I saw you. Pet me first.

Hey, this haircut thing’s not so bad

Maybe I will reconsider my objection to haircuts.

What do you think?

Hey Serena, don’t be jealous. Let’s get Papa Bear to take us for a walk!

Now Mama Bear goes to school every morning. Hey! Let us in. Show us the inside.

Here’s another familiar place. Papa Bear goes into the Post Office to get the mail.
People walk by. We wag our tails and make friends.

Sometimes Carla the Postmistress visits us. No, we don’t bite

The shame of it! Holly is giving me a haircut. I don’t like this at all.
I am NOT having a good time.

They tie me by the neck and run a lawn-mower all over my body.
No, I’m not smiling. I’m panting and whining. Aah, aah!

When will you stop torturing me? Don’t you know little dogs run the world?

If you can’t beat ‘em, maybe you can make friends with ‘em.
Holly, we can be pals, right?

Oh, the stress! Now she’s starting on the legs! When will this end?
No, I am NOT smiling. Aaooooh! Aah, aah!

All right. Enough! I’m going to eat major worms. No more nice dog.

We love apples. We take Papa Bear to all the apple trees in town.

This is one of our favorite trees.

Yum!

Yum!

This is another favorite apple tree. Roger and Linea are visiting us. Linea is a Portuguese Water Dog. She doesn’t like apples. Too bad for her!

Serena loves to run.

This is my rock. We call it Rocky’s Rock.

Mama Bear lets Serena run loose!

Serena runs like the wind! I can run almost as fast.

We love to run at the park and sniff all the new smells.

This is Mama Bear’s favorite lookout. She used to bring her dog Stella here.
We are her new dogs now. She says it takes two dogs to replace Stella.

We run back and forth to inspect everything.

So what’s the big deal about a little sand and mud?

Time for us to bust loose.

Mama Bear put us on a double leash.

This leash thing could take some getting used to. I always want to go a different way.

Okay, Serena, you go on that side and I’ll go on this side.

Mama Bear goes to school. Soon she will be teaching 2nd Grade.

Woo hoo, we’re going to school!

What do you mean, we can’t come in? Doesn’t everybody love us?

This is a good place for us to hang out.
Papa Bear gets the mail in the Post Office every day and we make lots of friends.

We have important excavations to conduct!

Meet my “partner in crime,” Serena.
First, we must fortify ourselves with treats. Do you have any carrots or dog biscuits?

Life is good! Mama Bear is responding to training well.

We usually dig a hole in the middle of the puppy pen first.
You should always start with a warm-up.

Then we move into the shade. What’s this here?
Mama Bear has been filling our holes with rocks.

Good going Serena, now we’re getting somewhere!

Woo hoo! Go Serena, go!

Something got away! Do you think it’s over here?

Time for a power nap…

We are growing up to be big puppies. Soon we can walk on leases.

This is the fruit basket that Papa Bear used to carry me in.

There are two things that I do when the weather gets hot. First, take a nap.
Puppies who take power naps grow up big and strong!

Second, cool off in front of an air conditioner. Aah! That feels good.

Here I am sharing a trumpet vine flower with Serena. Not!

Cousin Natalie holds me in her lap. Serena is to big for that. Too bad, Serena!

My sister Serena has long legs, and she is starting to use them.

She can already reach the table-top. Whoops! What have we here? Blackie the cat. Serena wants to climb on the table, too. Why can a black cat go up there and a black dog can’t? Not fair!

She knows how to use her paws, too. Ouch! I’m gonna get you back for that!

Oh no! Serena took my stick. Hey! Give me back my stick!

Now Serena has the water bowl. Hey Serena, bring it back!

Uh oh, she’s found the trumpet vines!

Leaping Serena. She loves to eat trumpet vine flowers for a snack.

Yum!

Hey Kids! It’s family picture time!

Family pictures can wait. Let’s play barracuda mouths.
That’s where we try to bite each other on the nose.

Gotcha last!

Who’s winning now?

There! Aren’t we angels?
